The 1st Annual Celebration of U.S. Veterans is an event brought about by three Veteran Owned Travel Agencies to do just what the name implies - Celebrate U. S. Veterans! When I returned home from Viet Nam in 1973 there was no hoopla, no accolades. One elderly lady in the airport (LAX) came up to me and thanked me for my service. I was thrilled! Most people treated me like a non-entity. Because of that experience I make a concerted effort to thank those in uniform I cross paths with...it's important.
I am still in contact with some of those fine young men (now fine old men) with whom I served, and I am proud to know them all! God bless 'em!
